State Competition General Information
We would like to invite all Iowa High School cheerleaders to participate in our Cheerleading Championships. Championships take place on a Saturday in November Here is some general information.
Additional, detailed information will be mailed to your school and posted on this website in August.
FORMS:
Numerous forms are necessary to register your squad for the competition. They
include squad registration, parental consent, school information and medical
release/treatment forms. We would advise you to start early with the preparation of the forms as many
school boards must approve the money disbursement before it can be mailed. There
is a definite deadline each year.
Remember the "first form" you must fill out is the membership form that is on this website as you cannot participate unless you belong to ICCA. Also, the coach of any school team that wishes to participate needs to complete the online spirit rules meeting. Click here for more information.
SQUAD NUMBERS AND ELIGIBILITY:
Any bona fide cheerleader in your high school is eligible. This would not
include someone who only cheers on an All-Star squad. Squads who like to stunt,
dance, cheer and jump should enter one of the Cheer Dance divisions. This
routine is up to 2 1/2 minutes of choreographed material (cheer and dance) which
includes up to 90 seconds of music. You may also enter up to five cheerleaders
in a stunt group routine with music up to one minute.
